Simerg marks its 4th anniversary with a special series about Ismaili volunteers. There are countless tales of devoted service and we would like to hear from you about Ismaili volunteers around the world who serve, simply wish to serve, without any expectation of rewards. What inspired you or the friend you know or a member in your family to join the Ismaili volunteers or serve as non-badged volunteer in Ismaili or non-institutions and groups, what challenges did the person experience during his/her services, what are the iconic and memorable events that the volunteer carries in the heart which sustains and motivates the person to carry on serving , and what are some of the inspirational moments that can be shared with others.

Please submit your memorable and inspiring story as well as photographs to Simerg@aol.com. For more details and background about Simerg’s anniversary series please click on  Ismaili Volunteers and their Stories of Service – A Special New Series for Simerg’s 4th Anniversary.

We shall commence the series on July 18, 2013, with a piece about Rajabali Mecklai of Vancouver, Canada, who continues being an active member at the age of 85.

  1. Services such as that provided by Dr. Kurwa are proving to be useful for the Jamat and non-Jamati members in the true ethic of our faith. I commend the volunteers for responding to the call of duty, and giving their resources for the good of everyone.

  2. Can you have an article on the history of the Ismaili Volunteer Coorps (IVC) and the background of the IVC Badge. And IVC is the only institution to wear the Crown of Mawlana Hazar Imam.
