  1. I’m deeply saddened to hear about Salim’s passing. My condolences to his family and friends. Although we hadn’t been in touch for some time, I saw a Facebook post where he mentioned being ill. I only recently learned he passed away last September. I first met Salim during the missing women case in Vancouver. Years later, while I was living in San Bernardino, he was traveling from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, and we had hoped to meet in person — but plans changed, and sadly, it never happened. He was a kind and caring reporter; I’ll always remember him that way. Rest in peace

  2. Salim was a person with great integrity and intellect. Will never be forgotten – has left a legacy behind. Rest in Peace brothe. You will be greatly missed

  3. Inna li’Llahi wa inna i’Llahi raji’un.

A fitting tribute to a wonderful human being. Those of us who pass through this world en route to the next can be reminded of what is important on this journey by inspirational lives like Salim’s. Not merely a concerned journalist but a concerned human being. We need more like him in these inhumane times. The last sentence of his departing message is a piece of wisdom that speaks timeless truth.

  4. He was a good husband , a good father and a good grandfather, and most of all a good role model. Miss him lots. Love you lots and Rest peace ❤️❤️
