Bustan of Sadi, persian poet, Miraj, the ascension of the Prophet Muhammad to the heavens, simerg
Fragment from page 7 of the Bustan of Sadi. The last two lines of poetry on this page extol the Prophet’s miraculous ascension to the heavens (mi’raj): One night he sat (on his flying steed Buraq) and passed through the heavens. / In majesty and grandeur, he exceeded the angels. / So impulsive, he urged (his steed) into the plain of closeness (to God) / While Gabriel remained behind him at the Lote Tree (of the Limit). 1. Malik – again a very timely and most inspiring article with verses from Kalam-e-Mawla. Shukhar alhamdulillah!

A few days ago I sent an email to my family and friends across the world regarding this most important event in Muslim Calendar. The following is the email in question:

“The most significant and important event of Shab-e-Miraj this year will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Alhamdulillah!

The following magazine and series were being published in Tanzania and in the UK in the past and these contained articles of many wide and varied subjects:

    – Read & Know published by the Ismailia Association for Tanzania (now ITREB Tanzania). In later years copies also reprinted by then Ismailia Association for Canada (now ITREB Canada)

    – Ilm published by then Ismailia Association for United Kingdom (now ITREB UK)

I also sent two appropriate and elaborate articles from the above two publications for going through them in preparation to gain full understanding of the event and to share the same with family and friends.

Best wishes, warm regards, affectionate thoughts, prayers and Ya Ali Madad.”

Praying that all of us have very satisfying spiritual time when celebrating this fabulous event on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
